Expectations, Scheduling & Insurance

Whether your first speak to a member of our office or with your therapist, we will send you a form to complete for insurance verification or ask questions regarding your insurance. You will need to have your insurance card on hand when you call. You will be asked for your insurance type, contract/member ID number, your name and date of birth, and the insurance holder’s name and date of birth (if applicable). If you initially email the office or your therapist, you will receive a demographics form with the same information.

A member of the office will then check your benefits and get back with you concerning financial expectations. You will also receive an email with link to our “client portal” to complete several forms, including a standard intake form for your therapist to get to know you better. If you are unsure of which therapist you would like to see, the office member will ask you several questions to determine who would be the best fit for you.

We aim to confirm your insurance benefits within 48 hours, once we have received all of the information. It is very important for all information on the portal to be completed 24 hours prior to your appointment. This allows the therapist to prepare for the session. There are times that clients are asked to schedule an appointment with our “intake & assessment” coordinator to be sure everything is complete, including assessments required by your therapist, prior to your appointment.

Most of our therapists at MBH accept insurance. The insurance accepted does vary based on therapist. We cannot guarantee insurance coverage until they have actually provided payment, as insurance companies do not guarantee what they quote to us as accurate until we bill for a service.

Insurances accepted are as follows but do vary based on individual plans: BCBS, American Behavioral Health, Behavioral Health Systems, Cigna, Value Options, ChampVA, United Healthcare (only as out-of-network), AllKids, and a few other small companies.
