Sex therapy addresses the relational, cognitive, emotional, physical, and psycho-social factors impacting sexuality. Creating a safe setting where you can discuss your sexual concerns without judgment, embarrassment or shame is essential.
In Sex therapy, we begin treatment by becoming acquainted with you while conducting a thorough sexual history and assessment. Following your assessment, we will work collaboratively to develop a meaningful treatment plan with specific goals for your therapy.
The therapeutic process will involve some or all of the following: reading assignments, at-home practice activities, self-exploration, journaling, relaxation and sensate exercises, viewing educational DVDs, on-line media and other experiential activities. The concept is to help you cultivate your optimal sexual health.
A healthy outlook and expression of sexuality can have an amazingly beneficial influence on one’s life. We use psychotherapy techniques, such as Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness Therapy.
