Princess Johnson-Higgins, M.Ed., LPC
Princess Johnson-Higgins is a compassionate sex therapist who believes that healing happens when people feel seen, safe, and supported. At Mind, Body, & Heart Wellness Clinic, she works with individuals and couples to deepen intimacy, strengthen communication, and reconnect with their sense of self.
Princess is especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ clients, Black women, and other minority communities; offering therapy that is affirming, culturally aware, and grounded in dignity. She helps clients navigate intimacy concerns, desire differences, identity exploration, relationship challenges, and life transitions with warmth and humor. Guided by Person-Centered and Feminist Therapy approaches, she empowers clients to trust their inner wisdom and build the life and relationships they desire.
In addition to her work at Mind, Body & Heart Wellness Clinic, Princess served as a mental health counselor at the Magic City Wellness Center, where she provides individual, couples, and group counseling. She also serves as the Junior Board President for the Black Women’s Mental Health Institute, advocating for accessible and culturally grounded care. As a facilitator for STRONGGirls, she supports adolescent girls in the juvenile court system through emotional skill-building and empowerment-centered programming.
Princess’s background also includes advocacy and community engagement with Planned Parenthood Southeast, where she centered sexual health education and reproductive justice.
She earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Montevallo and holds a Bachelor’s in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a proud member of the Chi Sigma Iota Academic Honor Society and is deeply committed to ongoing learning in sexuality, identity, and relational wellness.
Princess approaches therapy with the belief that healing the mind, body, and heart starts with genuine connection—and she is honored to walk alongside her clients on that journey.
