I began my education in 1997-1999 having to stop due to being a military wife. However the dream of an education was never far from my mind. In  2010 I returned to Faulkner University completing my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in August of 2011. The desire to help others led me to the University of North Alabama where in 2013 I received a Master of Science in Criminal Justice. I had hoped to be a substance counselor only to discover I had the wrong degree. Not one to be deterred, I returned to Faulkner University graduating with a Master of Science in Counseling in December of 2016. I began my career with mental health working with the SMI population for a year, followed by assisting adolescents addicted to substances for two years. I then worked with adults with addiction at an inpatient rehab facility, teaching groups, and providing individual therapy. I have spent the last 3 years working with children struggling with behavioral & emotional issues and trauma.
